Hearing Aid Assessment

Everybody’s hearing is different. That’s why we use a number of techniques and the latest technology to allow us to tailor your hearing care to your individual needs.

Why not encourage a friend to come for a hearing test too?

We offer hearing appointments at our clinic in Sandbach. Most of the time, hearing deterioration occurs gradually. This means it can be difficult to pinpoint exactly when you’ve started not hearing as well as usual. Hearing tests at Orchard Hearing make it easy to get checked and keep track of your hearing health.  One simple visit could help prevent years of frustration and help loved ones manage their hearing-related symptoms.

Step 1 – Testing Your Hearing

Our hearing tests typically take around an hour. This gives us plenty of time to listen to your concerns, carry out a full range of hearing assessments, and explain the results in detail. We always recommend bringing a family member or friend along—it can be helpful to have support and another perspective during the consultation.

During your visit, our Audiologist will ask questions about your general health, hearing experiences, and family history to better understand your needs. This is your chance to share any difficulties you’re having and what improvements you’re hoping for.

Once the tests are complete, your Audiologist will go over the results and explain what they mean for you and your lifestyle. If needed, they’ll recommend a personalised treatment plan, which may or may not include hearing aids.

We’ll also examine the health of your ears before carrying out a series of listening tests. These include identifying different tones through headphones and recognising speech in varying levels of background noise.

If hearing aids are recommended, we’ll walk you through all the available options. Our goal is to help you feel confident with the latest technology and fully understand the benefits it can bring to your everyday life. Throughout the process, you can expect exceptional care and personalised attention every step of the way.

Step 2 – Order and Fitting

Your hearing solution may take up to two weeks to be made, your audiologist will contact you to come in for your fitting appointment. You will be shown how to wear your new devices, how to charge them up or change batteries and how to clean and care for them. There will be some tests carried out to ensure the hearing aids are set at a level that is comfortable and helpful for you. Real Ear Measurement is used to account for the individual acoustic characteristics of your ear canals. A special microphone analyses the sounds produced by the hearing aids in your ear canal to ensure you’re getting the best level of sound.

Step 3 – 45 Day Trial Period

Rediscover all those sounds you’ve been missing out on with your new devices; in your own time and at your own leisure; at home, out and about, meeting up with family and friends – wherever you are going! We offer a 45 day trial so that you can be fully confident that you have made the right decision. During this time we arrange appointments to respond to any queries or concerns you may have, and to check that you are making the most of the hearing aid features, giving you the confidence to go out and reconnect with the world, providing you regular support to ensure you’re happy.

Step 4 – After Care

After your initial period of fitting and trialling, we will offer you a 6 month check up and an annual check up. If you need us for any reason before your appointment is due, you are more than welcome to contact us to arrange a check up. We are here for you to help you hear better, so keeping in regular contact.
